Age of the patient- The threat of arthritis like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout rises with the age of the patient. Some type of arthritis is developed at young age too.
Gender- Even scientist cannot tell why but it has been observed that females are most likely to end up with arthritis.
Due to weight gain- Carrying extra body weight in a number of ways leads to arthritis, and the more you weigh, the greater the chance. Increased weight on your hips and knees adds stress on them. Fat tissue also produces proteins that can cause harmful inflammation in your joints and around them.
Joint injuries- The risk of arthritis may be raised by accidents, such as those that occur while playing sports or from an accident. Your risk of arthritis can increase even if the injury has occurred several years ago and also seemed healed.
Genetics- If arthritis runs in your family chances are there that you might develop this disorder.
Bone abnormalities- People who are born with deformed joints or defective cartilage can develop arthritis.
